Legal costs

Legal costs consist out of

  • Lawyer costs (in the first instance each side pays their lawyer)
    • your lawyer
    • the bosses lawyer
  • Court costs (in all instances the looser pays the court costs)

LAWYER COSTS

In the first instance of labour courts (first ruling) every side pays its own costs (for lawyers). The looser does not pay the (lawyer) costs of the other side. So if you file a lawsuit by yourself without a lawyer and you win, then you do not have any costs.

The representation by a lawyers should cost between 300 and 700 Euro, depending on the “value” of your lawsuit.

COURT COSTS

The looser pays the court costs. If a ruling is partly for one side and partly for the other the costs are split accordingly.

Court costs in the first instance normally range between 200 and 300 Euro, depending on the “value” of your lawsuit.

If you cancel your lawsuit before the first court hearing, then you dont have to pay any court costs. Cost will be reduced as well if you reach an agreement with your boss before the end of the second court hearing, meaning before the courts ruling.

TOTAL LEGAL COSTS

The costs for lawsuits (in the first instance) can be up to 1.000 Euro.
1.000 Euro!?! How am I supposed to pay this? No problem!
